When I sync appointments to Outlook 2002 with ActiveSync 3.5 I get the following error: "The following appointment cannot be written to Microsoft Outlook due to error 80180027. The item will be skipped."

The appointments that can't be written are new appointments that I synced to my PocketPC from Lotus Notes or appointments created on the Pocket PC. Now I have had this work before.

Appointments created in Outlook sync fine to the PocketPC.

Strange thing, if I have Outlook open while the sync is running, I see the appointment momentarily, then it disappears.

Anyone else have this problem? Any ideas? Searches on Google and Microsoft support have given me no results.

Thanks,

Jason Dunn

You may have a corrupt appointment - try searching your hard drive for scanpst.exe and running that on your PST file.

Guess I forgot to mention, Outlook is running against an Exchange server, or an Offline file (OST).

I'll tell you there is nothing more frustrating than to get an error number with no explanation. :?

I'm confused (a natural state for me). In one post you say the appointments are ones created in Lotus Notes, or on the PPC. Then you post that you are going to an Exchange server.

Are you syncing on 2 different computers?

No, One computer two mail systems. I use PDAsync for Notes to PocketPC and ActiveSync for PocketPC to Outlook/Exchange. The company I work for uses Lotus Notes. The company I work at uses Outlook. My PocketPC has become a conduit between the two.

I have since resolved my problem through bad luck. I flipped the battery release switch and didn't realize it until all was lost. I cleaned out my Outlook account and then forced a full sync from Notes. Then synced to Outlook. Everything looks like it is working now.

Now where did I put that piece of tape
