View Full Version : Problems with ActiveSync 3.6

I had been happily connecting my O2 XDA to my PC running Windows XP (+Office XP) using ActiveSync 3.5. I downloaded and installed ActiveSync 3.6 and am now unable to connect the XDA at all. Whenever I try, I get the error message "Unable to Detect Device".

I have tried (i) uninstalling ActiveSync 3.6 and re-installing ActiveSync 3.5; (ii) re-installing ActiveSync 3.6; (iii) uninstalling the USB device driver; (iv) doing a combination of the above with my virus checker turned off.

I'm now at a bit of a loss! Can anyone help?

Have you tried a soft reset on the XDA? Is your device being seen by the computer (not ActiveSync, but the OS)? You've got USB selected in the Connection Settings (File -> Connection Settings)?

A soft reset did the trick...! (...why didn't I think of doing that - duh!).

No problem. The first thing you should try if you encounter any difficulty: a soft reset. It solves 99% of problems I have :)
