http://www.hexacto.com/news.php?nwid=33

Hexacto, the company that brought us such great games as Baseball Addict, Soccer Addict and Lemonade Inc., announced today that it is working with Microsoft Game Studios to launch its famous Links golf game for the new SmartPhones and Pocket PCs.

The game should be released sometime during the first quarter of 2003. Features will include:

• State-of-the-art graphics for stunningly realistic visuals
• Accurate ball and shot physics
• Two faithfully reproduced official Links golf courses and the ability to download additional compatible golf courses
• Photo-quality player animations from real professional golfers
• Multiple Multiplayer Modes taking full advantage of the Microsoft Smartphone and its Wireless Networking capabilities

I'm always up for a great new game, but it's the networked multiplayer modes that look cool to me. Imagine playing the Pebble Beach course wirelessly against friends, while none of you is actually within hundreds of miles of each other (or California)! THIS kind of wireless game-playing makes sense to me; I pay once for the game, and playing wirelessly with friends only costs me air/data time, with no surcharges. I really hope this model of wireless game-playing catches on.

This looks awesome. I'm more of a EA Sports Tiger Woods fan myself, but Links would certainly kill the time on the train!
