Recently diagnosed with Epilepsy (a little over 5 years old). For a while it looked like we wouldn't be able to get the seizures under control. With the help of chemicals and a little luck, she's a happy, healthy dog again...

This picture was not a setup. When she was younger she crawled into a pair of sweats on the floor and stuck her head out the leg hole.

How much did you pay for your Bengal?

$400 - He's a pet quality SBT. Included his first round of shots and neutering. Others can be literally thousands of dollars. Seems like marbled ones (as opposed to spotted) are a bit cheaper.
Are all four pictures of my cats showing up?

I thought he might have been. I'm no expert on them, but I was thinking that he didn't have the spotted look and was pretty sure that the spotted ones might go for more. But I didn't want to offend. ;) He's still cute. I'm looking to get a kitten for my daughter but will probably get a "mutt" since I don't think I could justify spending much on one. I grew up with cats (that sounds odd) and never had any sort of purebred. Have you heard about that new breed (Savannah I think) that's the result of breeding Bengals with an African wild breed (forget the name of it). The African cat is the size of a dog. Thinking about "how" they breed this new breed makes me shiver.

So, after the death (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=5479) of the family pet (seen in photos in the beginning of this thread), the house just seemed too quiet...
Here is the newest addition to the family. We adopted her last week...

Here is little Bud (Buddy Boo, Baby Buddy, Budoo)
He is an American Cocker Spaniel, and is supposed to be purebred, however we think he has some horse bred in somewhere along the line because rather than the normal 18-25 lbs he is a very tall 45 lbs.

The kids were there when we picked her out, I'm sure it helped that they were part of the process. The only problems are: 1) She's a big puppy and likes to jump around. 2) I keep calling her Deja...

Here's my pooch, Cricket, going to town on a pig ear. Picked her up in Germany almost four years ago as a birthday gift for my wife. She's a pain in the neck sometimes, but that comes with the territory when you get a beagle. She's full of personality and is sharp as a wip.

I am resurrecting this thread to post this photo taken about a year ago in memory of my cat Midnight, whom I had to have put to sleep yesterday evening after nineteen long and (mostly) healthy years. This last year, I watched as old age really hit her hard. She had been suffering for several months from the increasing effects of kidney failure, arthritis, and gum disease, and had taken a sudden turn for the worse after this past weekend. Putting her to sleep was, I think, the hardest decision I've ever had to make thus far in my life, but I know it was the best thing for her.
From childhood through college, birthdays, breakups with girlfriends, and just about every other event in my life that I have memory of, she was always there as a true companion and friend. Almost every night and even when I'd come back home from college for a visit, she'd be there at the end of my bed curled up in Kati's "cracked egg" (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=4656) position.
I'm going to miss her very much. :mecry:

Wow, 1984. That was a long time ago -- 19 years is a long time for a cat to live. I am sorry to hear about your cat. She looks very beautiful.

Dave,
Sorry for your loss. I've found losing pets harder than losing family members at times. I guess it is because the pet is totally your responsibility. We had our last cat cremated (he was mine and my wifes first pet together). We keep the urn on a shelf as a memory. He was like a child to us.

Your story was very touching. I believe your cat had a wonderful life with you.
I hope you find comfort in your fond memories of her.

Thank you for your kind words, everybody. I really appreciate it. Picking up her ashes tomorrow is going to be hard, but as with any loss, I know it'll get easier with time. I do have nearly two decades of good memories to look back on, which I know will help me get over this quickly. (She'd have been twenty years old in September.)
It's just so weird walking past the room she spent about 99% of the last three months in and not see her curled up on the rug. I woke up twice last night and my first instinct was to go in and check on her as I've done nearly every night for the last couple months. I think the fact that she's simply not here anymore is going to take more time to get used to than anything. :|
Thank you all again, :grouphug: :)

Here's our dog Rascal (she's 2) with her new best friend - our son Jared (he's one month old today).

We were worried that Rascal may be jealous of Jared, but she just loves him. We joke that she's his 2nd mom. :)
As you can see, she's become his shadow:

That's a partially nibbled, bone-shaped piece of dry dogfood in his mouth. He's very cute, and very affectionate. He loves to have his cheeks and ears rubbed - he'll close his eyes and turn his head to enjoy it to the fullest.

aw, all these pictures remind me of my dog. he was a pure bred irish setter and died in 1994 at the age of 11.
he was the first pet my parents got, and they never wanted to another dog afterwards since no one could replace him.
we got him in when we lived in luxembourg, he moved with us to austria, then to canada, then back to austria.
here's what "elder" looked like

Well
Here is my little jem named Rugby, he is a boardie collie x blue heeler x black lab - which makes him a real mutt. Any how, dont buy anything from stores that sell pets, they buy pets from puppy mills. If you dont know what that is, check on google and you will be downright dissapointed and sadden. Trust me, puppy mills are a nasty place for little doggies and kitties to die and lead a very short and miserable life only to produce offspring for the reselling and profit. We found out because we bought Rugby from Petland. Bad mistake.
Anyways, here he is!
