I recently recieved Seiko's InkLink product that captures handwritting on to my PocketPC. In the documentation they talk about using the Handwriting recognotion functionality in Notes to convert to text. The following is an extract from the manual:
Follow these steps to turn ink notes into text:
1. On the Pocket PC, select the text you want to convert.
2. Open the Edit menu and choose Copy.
3. Open the Start menu and choose Notes.
4. Tap New.
5. Open the Edit menu and choose Paste.
6. Open the Tools menu and choose Recognize.
My version of Notes does not have the "Recognize" menu item. Am I missing something? Can anyone assist.
Can someone check their version of notes to see if they have the option?

Nope, the top menu entry on the Tools menu
Send via E-Mail...
Beam Note...
---------------------
75%
100%
...
300%
---------------------
Rename/Move...
Delete Note
This is the total list of menu items I have.
I am wondering if one of the many input methods I have installed has removed the Recognize menu item.
I have Block Recognizer
Full Screen Keyboard
Keyboard
Letter Recognizer
Transcriber
Maybe I will re-install Transcriber.

input methods shouldn't matter. i have 6 total and still have my recognize option.
since ipaq revision and build numbers mean nothing to me, have you upgraded to pocket pc 2002? and even if you have, this may be one of the deficiencies of the upgrade.

I think you need Transcriber installed to do this and its not part of the 16mb ROM package for the 3600's however you can install it in RAM
Grab it here:-

I have had to re-install transcriber to get the menu items back. The only problem is that everytime I start my desktop computer a folder called Transcriber is opened. Any ideas on how to get rid of the folder? It is not in a startup group.

Delete everything your /windows/temp folder, then reboot.
