Hundreds Of Temp Files

On several different occasions, I've used File Explorer on my 3670 to look in my temp directory, and have found literally hundreds of files. Most are no bigger than 554B. What are all these files, and is there a setting somewhere that will make them stop self-creating? 682 temp files today, from the last few months.

I don't know why they are there and how to avoid them but it is easy to delete them from your PC with your "normal" explorer. (Mark the very last file while holding down the shift key and then delete them all.)
