This is my first post, so I hope my netetiquetteisn't too far off

I am yet to own a PDA device, but I am looking very closely at the Toshiba e310. However, of late the ASUS mypal a600 has caught my eye. As I will be travelling to Taiwan late this year, I figure that I can save myself alot of money from buying overseas. Also, I highly doubt the Razor Zayo model will reach Aussie shores by then.

Has anyone has any experience buying overseas? If there are any problems with the device later on, are there any opportunities to repair it locally (hopefully covered by warranty) without sending it back?

Is it true to say that the ASUS model is only sold in asian countries, whereas the Zayo is sold in Western countries? Also, are there any differences between these models?

More importantly, I was wondering if it's possible to install or configure a Chinese OS device into english? Is it possible for the vendor to do so if I request so? Or can I download and install the english OS?

Alot of questions I had to get off my chest, I surely hope that my first venture into the PocketPC arena will prove painless, and lots of fun!

Thanks

A few quick answers to your questions:

1) Yes, the Asus model is only being sold in Asian countries AFAIK. No difference in hardware, might be a difference in software.

2) It's not likey you'll be able to switch the OS language - it's *technically* possible, but only if Asus were to provide boot loader software, you were to get an English ROM image, etc. Too many "if's" here - don't count on being able to do this...
