Woo hoo! Speed Racer back on TV! So, I sat down Sunday afternoon to watch it. Friends, I've seen Speed Racer. I know Speed Racer. This isn't Speed Racer. Some 1990/2000 remake. The mouths actually come close to being in sync with the words. What's that about? I wonder if they will be putting the old collection on DVD anytime soon?

I loved watching Speed Racer, But 250 Bucks for a 5 disk set. Yikes!

I will wait for Cartoon Network to replay it then capture it.

Ed - are you dis-in' Sponge Bob? My kids like it, and I think it's hysterical. I never cared much for Speed Racer...

I agree, the new Speed Racer is the pits. So when are we going to see a new Clutch Cargo? (now there was a manly name for you) And while we're at it, how about Secret Squirrel and Cool McCool (somebody stop me before I hurt myself!!)

2 Stupid Dogs (early-mid 90s) had that Secret Squirrel bit, wasn't as good as the original though.

Hmmm... My "old skool cartoons" would be Mighty Mouse, Felix the Cat, and Rocky & Bullwinkle.

What was that series where they were in space and their space ship looked like a big boat but had this HUGE hole in the front where their massive cannon was? I thought it might be "Battle of the Planets" but I looked at those DVD covers and they didn't look right.

Battle of the Planets was about a bunch of kids (called G-Force) who flew The Phoenix that turned into fire when it went into 'hyperscpace' inorder to defeat enemies who came from 'galaxies beyond space' !

I had a crush on Princess when I was a kid

Love it tho'!

Ed, you're thinking of "Star Blazers"... that used to my favorite as well. That's out on DVD now... pretty big set though I can't remember if I saw it here in the US or in Japan.

I saw a die-cast model of that ship while in Japan... I was so tempted to buy it but it cost a fortune!!

Yeah, except for that whiney high pitched unicorn. I kept hoping someone would vaporize it.
