pocket pc vs. pocket pc 2002

if i want to be able to download and use a wide variety of programs is it essential that I get pocket pc 2002, or can i just stick with pocket pc? is there any real avantage to having the 2002 version?

95% of apps that work on Pocket PC 2002 will also work on 2000, but 2002 does have some upgraded features that you may find useful (and new applications too like MSN Messenger, etc.)

You bet. In fact, I've yet to hear of an application written for 2000 having issues under 2002.

thank you for a quick answer, that is great, because I just bought a ipaq 3635 with 200, and i have a 2002 cd, so now I know I can upgrade!
