Is it true that that when we install the activesync 3.5 on the desktop with PPC connected to the it, the activesync on the desktop and the PPC establish a partnership which facilitate remote synshronization with the desktop via wireless LAN or IRDA?
The reason that I am asking the question is because I am thinking if it is possible to run Active Sync on the exchange server, and write an activesync provider to allow user to synchronize their pocket Outlook data directly with the exchange server, since activesync 3.5 facilitate remote access. Then there is no need to go through MMIS anymore.
Therefore if there is a need to establish a partnership between the activesync on the exchange server and the activesync on the PPC the idea cant work.
