Hi

I have seen a new PDA available now, running OS Win Ce.Net 4.0.
Can I use this devise? given that PPC2002 is the current OS in the market.

Or is it a PDA waiting for apps and programs to come in the future?
Would there be nothing to run on it?

It looks like a very interesting unit and at this time it's £236

It's got the usual 64/32mb flash+ MMC/CF2 slot and it's using
Intel Risc 32-bit Strongarm 206mhz chip.

Is it worth buying?

Regards

Where have you seen this device?

If it's running CE4, then it isn't running the Pocket PC OS and normal Pocket PC apps probably won't run on it. If it already does what you want from a PDA, buy it. Otherwise you'll have to wait for the next generation PPC OS (probably next spring) like me

Right now I'd say no. Most PPC apps require the PPC UI and APIs to run. Until (if) there is more support for it, you may be stuck with a BE-300 type device with limited third party applications.

Hi

Thx for that ED/Raven - kinda figured that would be the case...

Anyways go take a look - Novatek have actually updated the page since my investigations yesterday - the pic of the PPC2002 Today screen has been taken off and replaced with much better pics! (altho' blank screens)

http://www.novatek.fr

I will try to attach the flash screen Novatek sent me as confirmation of the OS seems to be in some doubt on many web sites reporting this new PDA PPC640

Thx again
