Configure Option modem with Ipaq 3970

I am trying to configure the Gprs Optiop modem to work with my Ipaq 3970
I am registering to the APN but when I am trying to connect with *99#
it won’t work
Can anyone help

I'm assuming since you have *99# that you have looked at compaq's step by step. I have just set mine up without fooling around with the APN. ATT's software is cool but doesn;t work with BT. I was having trouble but it turned out that i was forgetting to set device as BT dialup modem first. It loses that setting relatively quickly. Is your device (assuming an Ericsson T68) recognizing that your 3970 is trying to dial?
