First of all, I’m not in any way affiliated with Vaja Cases or this website. I’m an EDI consultant for a major EDI and e-Commerce company.
In case you have problems following the links to the pictures then please understand that I don't have a place to link my pictures from. I keep them in an album in webphoto. You can see them all at: http://community.webshots.com/user/apeguero. Just open up another web browser to view the album along while reading this. The pictures are pretty much in order of the review
A few days after buying my beautiful Genio Pocket PC I found myself just hating the Toshiba case that came with it. I didn’t really like having to keep taking the Genio out in order to use it. I had in the past, dropped my previous PPC (Maestro), while taking it out of the same case. While it survived the drop, it did so happen to get scratched. Well: enough of that, I said. So I went searching.
In my searches I came across this maker of cases called Vaja. I had seen a review done on one of their cases so I decided to follow the link to their website http://www.vajacases.com, which is listed here. And waddaya know, right on their front website was the product I was looking for, a flip case for the e550g.
I was a little hesitant at first to order from them. Not only is the price a little steep for my budget but I’ve never been too comfortable ordering from overseas – they’re from Argentina. But, being that I had been there on a business trip a couple of years ago and had also heard somewhere that they have some of the world’s finest leathers (and beef :) ) I decided to place an order.
How did that go? Well…I placed the order after 4:00 PM on 8/29/02. I got an order confirmation right away. Then the next day their customer service people attempted to contact me. You see, early on 8/30/02, their system had sent me a message that the case would ship that day. Since they received an auto-reply message back from me stating that I would be out starting 8/30/02 and all of the following week they simply wanted to make sure I would be there to receive the case. Since I happen to work out of my home I was able to see this message from them and was able to confirm my availability to receive the case. Talk about service :). Right away I started to get really good vibes my purchase and about them. I mean, the website said it would take up to 15 days to ship, but it was instead shipping less then 24 hours after the order was placed. Cool.
I got the case three business days later. This was also impressive. The system message indicating shipment had provided me with a UPS tracking number so I was able to track the package. Also surprising was that this actually shipped from some address in Indialantic, FL. I thought it would be shipping from Argentina. Oh well. I guess “Brown” does that for you :) (UPS commercials). This is what the boxed package looked like: http://community.webshots.com/photo/49328812/49331007SbMgRT
I’m sorry you have to click on the link to see the pictures but I don’t know how to add pictures to this review.
I opened the box and, WOW, that great smell of leather, WOW! I decided to test its quality so I had my wife take a whiff. Right away she got sick. She’s allergic to leather and she got the same feeling when we went shopping for a BMW  so I knew this leather was good. Just a joke - although she really is allergic to leather. This is the contents of the package: http://community.webshots.com/photo/49328812/49331005SQJkdj
As you can see, it has the case, the clip, and a sort of leather brand that gives their company statement of how the product was designed and created.
These pictures show how the case fits on all sides:

Bottom Edge http://community.webshots.com/photo/49328812/49331096asFJOF
As you can see, it’s a nice fit! Right down to the screen edges.
The case has 5 slots, two of which are for SD/MM cards and the other two are for credit cards, business cards, or CF cards, etc. It also has a big slot under the other 4 slots where you can store bills or other stuff. Basically, this case can replace your wallet if you want it to:

Bottom http://community.webshots.com/photo/49328812/49331095tArDPZ
The case closes well and is not bulky at all. It barely adds to the dimensions of the Genio. It’s a tight fit as you can see. This is one of the reasons why I chose this one over the other product out of Spain.
Also, I’ve seen some complaints about the clip system. Being that this is my first one, I can’t say if they have improved it but, I haven’t had any problems with the device popping out. Even if it were to pop out it would survive well without a scratch since it is so well protected.
Okay, so far nothing but praises to Vaja for a job well done. Now for some constructive feedback and perhaps suggestions:
1. Can you add an opening to the top of the case so that any CF or SD expansion cards can stick out? This way one won’t have to remove the cards in order to properly close the case. This is what I mean http://community.webshots.com/photo/49328812/49331094jApQKd.
2. The Power Button hole doesn’t line up too well. I use my stylus to turn on/off the Genio. I’m okay with it but perhaps some others will find this rather inconvenient.
3. Change the clip system to the plastic one. I’ve seen a plastic clip system used in some cases where the button is on the clip itself and the rail for the button/clip is on the case. The whole thing is made of durable plastic. At least two things would be accomplished here, one would be the non-protruding button on the case for those times when you don’t want to carry the device on your belt; two would be increasing the durability of the clip system by having both coupling units made of the same material. Just a thought
So there you have it. I hope you find this helpful in making you decide which case to get. Once again, I’m not affiliated with Vaja cases or this website in any way what-so-ever. I just happen to be very happy with my business transaction with Vaja Cases. I'll surel buy from them again when the occasion arises. I must also thank this website for providing me the link to Vaja Cases and for the great job they do every day to keep us well informed.
Now, please be gentle on me. It’s the first time I ever took up trying to review something :) If you know of a place that I can use to store these and then link them then let me know and I'll make this more spiffy :)
