have you talked to anyone over there about it?
you will use your ir port to send the signaal from the ipaq to the phone and vice versa. It is a matter of settings at that point. you will need to have an internet service provider and they will have the phone number you are needing to dial for internet service. the phone you buy should come with instruction of the step by step process. I dont know it my self so sorry not able to help wiht that. HOpefully someone on here will lend a cheerful hand:) COME ON EVERYONE, HELP OUT!:)

Thanks, thinkingman. I was hoping for a way to do this using bluetooth, but you're right -- IR is an option. What I'm looking for first, I guess, is confirmation that it is possible to use a GPRS connection thru that combination - iPaq / bluetooth / T68.

I use 3970 + T39m and i connected the 2 devices without any problem.

I just followed the instruction give by my isp for the internet side.

Graham, it's definitely possible. I use a 3835 with a Bluetooth CF card and a T68m on VoiceStream. Do a search in this forum for T68 -- I think I remember some people using 3900's.

Check out http://www.ppcw.net for instructions and links from Compaq on how to setup your 3970 with a t68 for Bluetooth GPRS connection. Pretty easy to do !

I live in China, which is GSM/GPRS land. I have just bought an iPaq 3970 with Bluetooth and plan to buy a T68 to go online. I'd be grateful for any guidance on info of how to hook the 3970 thru my GPRS-capable SIM card onto the web.
