<a href="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/bregonje/dutchmobilesites.html">http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/bregonje/dutchmobilesites.html</a><br /><br />What do you want when you have a connected Pocket PC? A list of sites that are optimized for viewing on a Pocket PC. There are many portals out there, but not too many contain localized info for people outside the USA. As US based material is fine in some case, for instance the traffic information in Seattle is not as important to me as that in my own country... Other solutions that were around did not contain all items I wanted, or where not in my preferred format (one page with as little overhead as possible). So what I did is to compile a list of sites that I like, both from the USA and The Netherlands. This HTML document is located in the My Documents folder of my Pocket PC, and so I created my own offline portal. You can click the title of this post to get there. Just remember that this is still a work in progress, and not a definite link.<br /><br />But while I was working on my links, I realized that the Pocket PC 2002 Phone Edition is released world wide, and that other users from other countries might "suffer" from the same lack of a localized portal. Or may be you've found great resources that do not appear on my or other portals yet. Sharing that info might help others, and that's what this site is all about right?<br /><br />So this was my idea: you post the links to optimized sites or mobile portals that you use with a little description. People could use that to create their own portal, or may be we could even host localized pages here. If we'd do that, what format would you like it to be? Like this, or a main page with subpages for the different categories?

Marlof has an excellent point. MyMobileStuff has neglected to offer international sites, but this will change next month. We would gladly host people’s links in our upcoming international section. We are also working on content based on which US state you are living in.

Please contact me if you are interested.

Thanks Marloff for the link. Question : are pda's and pocketpc's a hit in The Netherlands ? Here in Belgium I'm the only one of my friends who has a pocketpc (granted, they are expensive over here). The only other person I ever saw with an ipaq was one of my college professors. So when I'm browsing the net using gprs I feel like I'm a oddity in the streets. So how is that in The Netherlands, is there a higher rate of pda penetration and how is the XDA selling ?

How about the WAP sites?

PPC2002 devices can view WAP sites. There should be a lot of these out there too.

like www.esato.com for one.

O man, now I have to control the urge to buy stuff like this even when I'm mobile! I love checking out State Site Direct!

How about the WAP sites?

Yes, I thought about that too. As for "just content" these are fine, and I probably should add some WAP portals to my links.
