<a href="http://www.pocketgamer.org/showthread.php?threadid=964">http://www.pocketgamer.org/showthread.php?threadid=964</a><br /><br />It almost sounds too good to be true, but according to this article posted on PocketGamer.org, Sony is porting the game for play on the Pocket PC. It doesn't mention anything about being on-line, so it must be an off-line game. Still, it looks pretty cool. <img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif" /><br /><br /><img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/pocketeverquest.gif" /> <br /><br />"Something is amiss on the outskirts of Freeport. More undead then usual are wandering through the Common Lands. There are rumors of a powerful Necromancer raising an army of skeletons and zombies to threaten the city. To add to this, the local orc tribes are taking advantage of the situation and raiding farmers all along the frontier. The player must confront these evils and save the populace from the growing menace."<br /><br />Read more on PocketGamer.org.

Now we need wireless power transmission or some major (and probably heavy) battery packs to sustain the endless hours of lost time inside the game...

*stunned* Do you know what this will do to the popularity of the Pocket PC?

Perhaps Sony is going to be doing some market reserach before it decides to enter the PPC world. Not a bad idea.

Pfffffffffffffffft so what. I've been playing Everquest for 2 - 3 years now and ready to move on; cancelling my account (by co-incidence) this week. Playing it nowdays is just dull, dull, dull and a waste of time. The graphics are just hopelessly outdated, so for me it's not half as much fun.
I just wish they had EQ2 ready. Then I couldv'e just moved on to that to get my next fix. AC, SWG just don't excite.
P.S. Don't ask me for my gear as it's already going to friends still hopelessly addicted ;)

Yes, that's the sign of a terribly unsuccessful game! ;)

Just to clear one issue up that appears to be causing some confusion, Pocket EverQuest will be a single-player game according to the information I was sent. No need for wireless sleeves, heavy-duty batteries, etc... ;)

I was hooked on EQ for a while and ended up canceling my account since I did not want to pay $10/month anymore, and I was noticing that I would make excuses to NOT do something so i could play. It cut into my sleep time, wife time, and work time. But I loved it!
Now I play Neverwinter Nights instead. TONS of user created modules available for unlimited playability, and it's not as tough to get in, play for an hour, then get out. I highly recommend it.
Now Pocket EQ...looks more like a Diablo type game. Totally cool. No real world interactions to get you all hooked and obsessed. No monthly fees (I hope). Sounds like a good thing to me!

Hey, I didn't say EQ was unsuccessful. I just said I'm over it! ;)
I still think it's my favourite game of all time and it's been a hard decision to wipe out 2+ years of character building.
Actually, I think EQ just celebrated having something like 100,000 subscribers online simulateously. I wasn't one of them having become bored to death of standing in the same spot for hours on end, with my only respite being able to press 'A', and the keys '1-9' every now and then to attack, but clearly their online population is growing.
I just wish I had more time to waste playing it, but I have so little of that nowdays it just isn't worth it anymore.
