Ericsson T68i with Ir + iPaq 3835

Has anyone used this phone in infrared mode to connect ipaq 3835 or similar PPC to internet? I am thinking of going for the phone with AT&T and I am wondering how it will work. I need a new phone and I just got the ipaq so while I doubt if I will use it much I would like to be able to have the option when travelling. It would be cheaper to buy the phone with the rate plan than to go with Earthlink's plan and have to buy an Aircard.

And then I wondered how easy it is to connect to internet using Ir while wife is driving.

Yes you can....but speeds are slowwwwwwwwww... Maximum connection is a 14.4K via infrared and you have to keep the T68 and iPAQ aligned all the time, cause you can loose the connection very easily.

My recommendation would be to get a 3870 since you would be able to use BT instead of infrared, or get a BT sleeve like i did.
