I finally got my wireless network up and running, and can get back to business! I really had to figure out what piece of the puzzle that was not working. In the last couple of steps I got a hold of another WiFi Access Point, a D-Link DI-713P with which I could verify that my HP Jornada 565 and Socket Wireless LAN CF Card were both working. Many thanks to Dag Petersson, FrontIT, for letting me borrow the DI-713P! Then I digged up my old Compaq WL400 11 Mbps Wireless LAN Hardware Access Point and installed it at home beside my D-Link DI-804 Broadband Gateway / Firewall Router. On his way to Microsoft, Redmond, Chris Forsberg helped me out on the SNMP settings of Compaq AP. I go wireless and to the dust bin goes the Symbol AP 4121 Access Point. Thanks to all who have helped me out! Bottom line: regardless of what you are trying to make work, start out with things that ain't broken!
