Thanks for the tip Jason! See, this is why I like the (slightly) off topic stuff.

I think you mean the Admin pack

You can download it here: http://download.microsoft.com/download/officexpstandard/sp/oxpsp2/w98nt42kmexp/en-us/oxpsp2a.exe

the "normal" service pack is available here: http://download.microsoft.com/download/officexpstandard/sp/oxpsp2/w98nt42kmexp/en-us/oxpsp2.exe

Hope that helps

Greetings
Flo

Has anyone experienced a problem updating to SP1? When I've tried from the web site and the downlowded exe file I get the same error:

Error 3128. Error appyling patch to file C:\Config.msi\PTxxx.tmp. It has probably been updated by other means, and can no longer be modified by this patch. For more information comtact your patch vendor.

Then it gives me the choice to retry or cancel. Retry just gives me the same error over and over. Cancel aborts the process. I should aso note that renaming the file causes the error to get worse.

If anyone has an idea I'd appreciate the suggestions. :D

I'd get on one of the microsoft.public.office newsgroups for detailed support. There are quite a few Office MVPs ready and raring to go with SP2.

Err, no, it was a joke... SP2a will fix the bugs in SP2... no? oh well.

Anyway, it always takes them longer than a week to get the fixed SP out

Well...after searching knowledge base I found that the service packs are not for my version. I'm using the student version.

Oh well...
