The article said Tri-band Dual mode. It should've been Tri-mode, Dual band. CDMA phones around the world only comes in 2 flavor, 1900 or 800. Unlike GSM which comes in 3; 900,1900 and 1800.

I would still like to know whether it actually is tri-mode, dual band. Some places seem to claim a lack of analog capabilities, even though the pictures seems to have stickers that say otherwise. Any definite answers yet? And does it support 1xRTT or not?

My biggest question is how large (or not) this phone will be... I'm in the market for a new phone and this could be what I'm looking for depending if the size is right.

Best guess based upon the fcc pdf would be that it's about 3 1/4" by 2" closed, not including the antenna stub.

For you folks who are dying to get this phone, here's a great web site that lists the latest phones. The guy who runs this site read over the FCC results and doesn't think that the FCC has approved this phone for analog yet, only digital.

The i600 is listed at http://www.phonescoop.com. If you check with the site owners, they can tell you about Verizon's legendary testing process - they test and test and test a phone for months before letting it on their network.

I am new to all these CDMA, GSM GSPR stuff. I am currently using SprintPCS. Will I be able to use Samsung Smartphone i600 with SprintPCS?

Yes. Sprint PCS uses CDMA. The new Samsung phone is a CDMA phone. Verizon will apparently offer the phone first, Sprint later on.
