Any recommendations? I am looking for something that doesn't try and display the actual photo resolution. Rather something that generates thumbnails and when displaying the actual pic reduces it to screen size.

Resco has a great picture viewer. It's not free, but I think it's great.

Check out Pablum Picture Organizer too. I think this is one really good piece of software or pictures. Hopefully I will have a review up soon.

Spb Software makes it: http://www.softspb.com/

peter's image viewer is my choice for a few reasons:
(1) free is my main reason
(2) it makes thumbnails of all the images in a folder for you

you may want to buy some other software though, b/c it lacks too many advanced features like auto-fitting images to a screen, or any editing or album making techniques. it's a viewer and a viewer alone.

also, if you try to open big pictures, it may seems like your PPC has frozen up, but it's just loading.

you may as well give it a try for free.
