Notetake shortcut

Just noticed a strange thing on my HP Jornada 548. In the Windows folder there seems to be a shortcut for each of the PIM apps e.g. Calendar.exe has a shortcut called Calendar. But notes.exe has a shortcut named notetake. It seems that these two do different things. notes.exe simply runs or swaps to the notes program if its running. The notetake shortcut however, will start notes.exe if it's not running, and if it is running, will create a new note. So assigning a h/w button to the notetake shortcut (by copying it into \Windows\Start Menu\... allows you to create a new note by pressing the hardware button twice.
