http://www.crucial.com/media/releases/128MMC.asp

Good to see MMC sizes ramping up - they're still lagging behind SD though. I wonder if they'll reach parity on the size front, or if MMC will always be lagging behind? Still, MMC is an open standard owned by no single company, so it's good to see it evolving.

"Crucial Technology, a division of Micron and one of the world's largest direct memory upgrade providers, announced today it has added the 128MB MultiMediaCard (MMC) to its growing flash card line. With the addition of the 128MB MMC card, Crucial now offers a wide range of MMC and Type I CompactFlash™ cards that can be used in a variety of electronic devices including digital cameras, handheld computers, and digital music players.

"As electronic devices such as digital camcorders and digital music players become smaller and more sophisticated, manufacturers are introducing more and more devices that use MMC," said Crucial Technology Product Marketing Manager Scott Heimgartner. "Crucial's new 128MB MultiMediaCard allows you to store even more on a single card; and Crucial's limited lifetime warranty assures customers it's a product they can trust."

Hi

I looked at the site and used the memory selector. The only matches for my iPAQ 3850 were CF cards. I thought the iPAQ 3850 could use MMC and SD but not SDIO. What is the difference between MMC and CF - if I store mp3's on a MMC how is the playback? In practice is the slower access speeds for MMC (I am guessing here) a problem.

My iPAQ 3870 works nicely with their 64 meg MMC cards - it's an error in their system. I'll inform them.
