Well:

1. If they don't own PI by now, or;
2. If they aren't up Saturday night "working" on their PC...

they're no true hardcore PPC aficionado! Oh wait, maybe I shouldn't be so proud of this...

Ed,

Do you know if Pocket Informant works with Pocket PC Phone Edition? I couldn't find any info about this on Pocket Informant's web pages. I recall reading somewhere that it had some extra features that were enabled on a PPC Phone Edition device. Am I mistaken?

From what I've seen of the two PPC Phone Edition devices I've played with, they've been able to run all the PPC2K2 software. I don't see any reason why this wouldn't apply to PI.

Awesome! I wasn't sure about buying this, but for 10 bucks you can't go wrong :) Thanks for the heads up!

I have used Pocket Informant for about 1 year now. It is a great product. The developers listen to the consumer. They actually implemented features that I (and probably hundreds of other people ) asked for.

I am jealous of the special weekend price but I do not regret buying the product.

I agree. PI is without a doubt the single most valuable app I have on my iPAQ. I live in the Agenda View and Task View. And, like you say, the commitment from Alex is unmatched.

Hey, a huge thanks for letting us know. I had thought PI wouldn't work with the Jornada 525, but seems to be running fine. I certainly would have missed out. :D

Now, back to playing with all these features. Have to admit, it was worth $10 for the phone dialer alone. Can't wait to see the guys at work making this face tomorrow when I casually dial a number from the PPC: 8O I'm easily amused.

Hey I love PI, got it registered a long time. Big question: does PI use Phone Edition phone stuff? Another person asked about this, maybe he meant this. Of course PI will run on Phone Edition, but will PI dial phones, etc? It would reaaaally disappoint me if it didnt. Aleksei, the developer, is on top of the program all the time. He gives personalized support, answers questions directly on the forums, and puts in what users ask for.

It would surprise me very much if he hadnt included Phone Edition functionality in this amazing program.

Can't thank you enough for this heads up! I've been dithering for months, trying to decide whether and when to buy (PI vs AF is a terrible decision)--but this deal finally made up my mind for me.

Just another in a long list of reasons why this site is so great that I can't let a day go by without checking it :!:

Thanks for the tip. I had been thinking about doing this for a while.

At $10 it was a total no brainer!

No - you check it daily cause the news flows so fast that you would have to read several pages to catch up if you miss a day or two! (As I am doing just now).

Oh boy, more gotta have software! Thanks for keeping us informed about deals like this. I was on the fence about PI but for ten bucks I'm willing to take a chance and contribute to the geek economy as well!

Uh - I am one of those reading it "This Monday morning". Guess what, I wasn't out of luck at all. I just bought it for 10 bucks

Me too. I'm one of those weekend PPCT slackers who got in on the deal as well.

I'm really glad because I have used every trial version of PI ever published but just somehow never got around to buying the thing. It seems like they were always coming out with another version or I was changing PDAs and always put it off 'til later. I always missed it once the trial ended, but there was always some excuse to wait.

Not anymore.

(http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif indeed; mumble, mumble) I sense a lot of sympathy for us, Ed.

(Not to mention that I am not likely to pay full price now, knowing others got it for $10. I'll have to wait for another sale!)
