<a href="http://www.tekguru.co.uk/PPC_Reviews/LOOX/index.htm">http://www.tekguru.co.uk/PPC_Reviews/LOOX/index.htm</a><br /><br />The second Loox review I've seen, this one is very thorough - lots of screen shots, high-res photos, and some unique analysis. Great job Daron! The more I read about this Pocket PC, the more I want one - and I have to admit that I'm impressed with the way they implemented Bluetooth on the device. The screenshots tell the story, but it looks like even I might be able to get it to work. <img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif" /> I like the "shared folders" concept - it would be great to have that integrated on an OS level, so you could have a folder of shared files that anyone could access via Bluetooth, Wifi, etc. Check out the review.<br /><br /><img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/tekguruloox.jpg" /><br /><br />"One question I've been asked several times during the writing of this review, would I recommend the LOOX 600? The question is a definite yes. The LOOX hardware is well built, stylish and ergonomically designed and the benefit of the Jog Dial and both SD and CF card storage can not be ignored. The problems encountered such as corrupt dialog buttons, slowness of some applications, washed out screen and the loss of screen sensitivity in some areas are expected to be resolved before the LOOX ships out to users. If these facets of the device are eliminated I can whole heartedly recommend the LOOX - it's a powerful feature packed Pocket PC which will be available at a significantly lower cost than many of its rivals."

The only problem seems to be the loading of the page at the moment, that many people are trying to read it that the server can't keep up!

So if you do want to read the review try a little later! :)

The review was great. Very informative and well written. It is going to take all my power to keep from buying one, well that and my fiancée kicking my butt if I did. Oh well such is the price of love....or something like that.

Those today plug-in's look cool. Did they come with the Loox or are they third party? The launcher looks like tdLaunch, but I am not familiar with the battery & memory monitor or the Appointment plug-in. Can you drop up some names and such.

Thanks!

Hmmm... A new internet phenomenon - the Pocket PC Thoughts Effect (or PPCT Effect).

Not quite as catchy as the /. effect tho' :D

Also known as "hitting the big time." It was a huge ego boost when it happened to me...

As PPCThoughts is like the NYTimes, Washington Post, or (whatever main news source in your country) it can generate worldwide "buzz" in mere moments.

It just shows that Jason and the gang are doing a great job of not only keeping us all up to date but also creating a solid community.

The Battery status application is Battery Pack 2002 3.2, the launcher is indeed TdLaunch, the appointment plug in is a beta I'm testing.

PPC Thoughts is a bit like the slashdot of the Pocket PC world!

I reckon the Tekguru reviews are one of the two best styles of review I've seen on Pocket PC sites (sadly mine isn't the other...! :( )

Hell - I had a Loox in my hands for two days and I still find I want it more now... :)
