if u answered an ipaq you were exactly 100% WRONG it was a jornada 5 not 60 but 40 8O and it plays a very important part in the movie but youll have to go watch the movie to find out what she uses it for

I doubt I'll ever see that movie, but it's cool to see them using Pocket PCs in ANY movie. Did they call it a Palm?

We saw two movies this weekend - Crocodile Hunter Collision Course (hey, we have 6 year old) and Sum Of All Fears and both featured pocket PC's in leading positions. On the Crocodile Hunter movie it was used for tracking a moving target (iPaq) and on Sum Of All Fears it was used as a secure messeging device and a top secret image viewer (using compact flash - not sure what make the device was. It may have been "made up").

Remember the Jornada 430se in one of the more recent James Bond's? The device got some pretty good airtime in that movie. That is one of the first that I remember seeing a Pocket PC in.

I believe the SOAF device was a Casio EG-800
Didn't Laura Croft have some sort of Jornada in Tomb Raider?

I think it was some early version of the P800... that's the only Ericsson PDAish phone I can think of right now...

it's sweet.
they used a Casio Pocket PC, he used it mainly for receiving information about his missions and where to go for his debreifs.

Just watch Austin Powers 2 again...anyone catch the PDA in the early scene? It isn't a Pocket PC but does run CE.
Give up? A Philips Nino is used as a remote control for the TV screens in the "NATO" building. They added a little thing on it that looks like an antenna, but it is Nino.

Wasn't that the one where they used it to diffuse some sort of nuclear bomb? I guess if you can believe Denise Richards as a nuclear physicist, a Jornada diffusing a bomb is comparatively pretty realistic.
I wasn't sure about Tomb Raider, but I do remember the bluetooth headset.
Does anyone remember the commericial where the guy forgot his speech and had his assistant read it to him via video conference over his EM-500 (which he was holding upside down)?

Yeah, it was the World Is Not Enough. She also had it on a belt clip when we first meet here and then it is used to difuse the bomb in the pipeline.

Charlie's Angels and the recent Eight Legged Freaks also feature Pocket PC's - namely the Cassiopeias (probably for their bright screens that read better on film).
With the new 3900 series iPAQ's superbright transreflective LCD, you might start seeing more of those.
