Hello..

I've had my iPaq 3835 since December of 2001, when they first came out. I've been very happy with the product. But, today, all of a sudden, the iPaq filestore disappeared from all the file utilities including PPC File Explorer, Windows Explorer (using ActiveSync) and the Main Memory control panel. The Memory control panel now shows "No Storage Card Installed" instead of iPaq Filestore.

I've been storing about 5-6 megs of ebooks etc. on there ever since i've had my Pocket PC and have never had a problem. This started soon after I had to soft reset my system after it got a little draggy (which it sometimes tends to).

I've tried the obvious: multiple soft resets. didnt help at all. i cant do a hard reset right now since all my PPC software is back home in florida and i'm in Europe at present. Does anybody have an idea how this could be fixed?

Would greatly appreciate any tips.
Thanks...

WHOA! 8O Never heard of this problem - sounds like you have a harware failure. Time to call Compaq...

anybody else having the same problem might want to try out the following <a href=http://discussion.brighthand.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=54958>brighthand forum</a>...

apparently, its some sort of software link glitch and its common enough for compaq to make a patch for it, which can be downloaded from that forum.

thanks for your reply, Jason. I have emailed Compaq but havent heard from them yet.

You may also want to try the 2.20 ROM update - perhaps there's a fix in there for it?

i had this same problem with mi ipaq 3760, suddenly the ipaq file store dissapeared! cant be found with pocket explorer or resco file explorer wich i use! i kept many pics there so it was very annoying! but after 3 or 4 soft restarts! it was back! and alive! all the files were there.

i thinks you may want to try this too, perform several soft restarts (perhaps you can clean some garbage, temp files and other stuff after running each soft reset!)

hope that helps!
