Kopsis Releases Streamliner for PocketPC 1.0.0
Working with outlines on PocketPCs just got much easier
PLANT CITY, Florida - July 9, 2002 - Kopsis, Inc. today announced the release of their Streamliner(tm) application for the PocketPC(tm). Streamliner is an innovative new outliner application that combines the power of in-place editing, features for task and project management, and RTF file import/export that preserves document structure (heading levels). The result is an efficient and easy to use tool with a wide variety of uses. Streamliner is available from PocketGear and Handango. A free 30-day trial version is available for download and full licenses can be purchased for only $9.95.
Like other PocketPC outliner programs, Streamliner is designed to help manage ideas and information - the primary task for which people buy PDAs. But unlike other PocketPC outliner programs, Streamliner attempts to "raise the bar" in areas like efficiency, usability, interoperability, and affordability. "We're coming from the PalmOS world where efficient interaction with the software is the hallmark of a good application." said Dave Kessler, President of Kopsis, Inc. "Reducing an operation from three taps to two may not seem like a big deal, but it makes a huge difference when you're on the go or in a high-pressure situation and you need to record or retrieve a bit of information very quickly."
Streamliner is designed to work well in a variety of roles. As a note taking program, Streamliner's ability to organize and rearrange notes in a hierarchy makes it superior to tools that allow organization only by simple "flat" category structure. As a task management tool, Streamliner's support for unlimited levels of subtasks, variable progress indicators, and automatic computation of parent task status based on the status of the child tasks makes it clearly superior to the PocketPC's built in task management. As a document editor, Streamliner's ability to import/export RTF files with the document structure (headings and paragraphs) intact combined with in-place free-form editing, smart word-wrapping, and extensive external keyboard support makes it the best PocketPC application available for editing large, complex documents. According to Dave Kessler, "I think combining all these capabilities into a single inexpensive and easy to use tool is going to make Streamliner a 'must have' for most PocketPC owners."
As the inventor of first CompactFlash(tm) memory card adapter for the Handspring(tm) Visor(tm), Kopsis, Inc. is well known in the Visor community for innovation and unrivaled customer service. Kopsis' FlashAdapter software was awarded VisorCentral's 2001 Visor Product of the Year. Streamliner is Kopsis' first major application for PocketPC devices. "We're excited about being able to develop Streamliner for the PocketPC." said Kessler. "The PocketPC platform offers amazing potential for application software and we've designed Streamliner from the ground up to take advantage of it."
