This may be the application for you - I tried out version 2.0, and it was promising, and in version 3.0 I was told they addressed my comments...how flattering. Let me know what you think of the application!

"Palbum Picture Optimizer is an application you will find helpful if you have some digitized pictures on your Pocket PC. This program is indispensable for people who have many pictures taken with their digital cameras. If you apply the Picture Optimizer to your photo collection you will have them optimized.

Generally, pictures you take with a digital camera are uploaded to your Pocket PC and stored there in their original format, which means original size, orientation, file size and quality. You can have lots of huge image files taking very much storage space, sometimes 1Mb each. As a result, they load very slowly and there is no use of keeping such big pictures on a Pocket PC with its small screen."

• Optimizes images for better look and faster loading
• File size decreases up to 10 times after optimization
• Brand new stretch algorithm with excellent quality
• Effects: blur, brightness, etc.
• JPG, GIF, PNG and BMP formats supported
• File list or thumbnails view to choose images for optimization
• Optimizes multiple pictures in one operation (batch optimization)
• Optimize photos' size, orientation, file size, and JPEG quality

1) You'd have to ask SPB about that - I'm really not sure

2) The second icon is surprised. If you hover your mouse over the emoticons to the left of this window when you're replying, you'll what they all "mean".
