View Full Version : O2 XDA; reminder alarm does not sound sometimes

I have this strange problem with my XDA. Sometimes the reminder alarms fail to active the device.

Normally when an alarm becomes active the XDA is switched on and the alarm sounds. But not always. And when an alarm does not sound while it should, when I myself switch on the XDA the alarm sounds immediatelly (too late then of course).

I thought it could be the battery -maybe not enough power left to switch the device on- but that is not the case because when I soft reset the XDA everything returns to normal.

I then thought it could be a software issue, so I have removed every 3rd party application that was on it, didn't help either.

So now I soft reset the XDA every morning and every afternoon, just to be sure the alarms work.

What could be the problem? Any idea?

This problem has been reported with other Pocket PC 2002 devices as well. It seems to be fairly rare, but it's not unheard of. I don't know of any solution. I can only suggest a hard reset of your device, don't install any 3rd party apps, and see if they still have problems triggering.

Thanks Jason. That's exactly what I did, hard reset, no 3rd party apps, but I'm still having the problem. I will contact O2 Customer Support tomorow, see what they can do for me. Missed a few appointments/meetings already, very inconvenient when you can't rely on you electronic buddy anymore.

:D Guess what? The Dutch O2 support person I spoke with this morning has exactly the same problem with his own XDA! He hasn't heard this specific complaint from other customers yet, but since he is aware of 2 cases now (he he he) he will escalate this problem.
