View Full Version : Do you own one of these Pocket PCs?

I'm trying to compile the most comprehensive battery tests ever done, and I need people who have access to devices that I do not. If you own a Casio E-200, a Toshiba e310, or an HP 568, and you're willing to help me with some battery tests, please respond to this thread. I need a few people for each device in order to share the load (the tests require that you don't use your Pocket PC for several hours). I'm hoping that at least some of the people who respond to this also have access to an external microphone and a WAV file recording program - please indicate if you do.

/me reporting for duty. Jornada 568 with both standard and extended battery (from the PC Card Expansion) is ready to be put to use. I also happen to have a Mr. Flash 128 meg CF card too if that helps. I do have a mic too.

Jason, could you post basically what needed to be done / tested? If were talking about 4-5 hours... I'm good here. I got too many applications on my unit though and I'm not sure how this will affect the test.

Let us know.

Jason,

I have an E200 but no external microphone and WAV software.

I would be happy to help your testing effort.

Reporting for duty here also :D I've got a Toshiba e310, although I do not own WAV recording software (if anyone knows of a freeware WAV recording utility, I'd be happy to download it  )

You can count me in.

I have a Jornada 568. But I don't have an external mike connected to it, and the most I ever recorded on it were notes. If you can suggest a WAV recording software I can try to get it.

I can do the test over weekends, since during the week I use frequently the Jornada.

Tell what you need.

Hello! I've got a 568 and I'm ready... I just don't understand the need for the external mike and WAV file thing? can't we just use a specific wav file?

What is this external microphone thing??? Surely not for the PPC. I don't recall ever seeing one with a mic jack, though I wouldn't mind one.

Allow me to clarify: both the WAV file recording program and the external microphone are for a PC to measure the length of audio playback in a controlled test from a Pocket PC. You're making me give away all my testing secrets. http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif

I too have an E-200 and am willing to help out with this effort.

Additionally, I have a 64MB MMC card, several different brands/sizes of CF memory cards, and a 802.11b CF WLAN card.

I have a mic and wav recorder available to me as well.

Sounds as though you may have enough E-200 users already, but I'd be glad to help out if you'd like another. I have a 64 MB SD card, a Socket CF Wireless LAN card, Socket Low-Power Ethernet card, and 56K CF modem card available if necessary. I don't have the E-200's PC Card sled, however. Oh, and I also have a mic and appropriate software.
