Toshiba’s e740 Pocket PC also incorporates CompactFlash II and Secure Digital™ (SD I/O) expansion slots that can be used for a variety of plug-in functions including additional memory storage and Bluetooth™ connectivity."<br /><br />...except for this part: "Also available is the optional Toshiba Pocket PC High Capacity Battery Pack that slides onto the back of the Pocket PC e740, tripling the unit’s battery life. Both the high-capacity battery and Toshiba Expansion Pack can remain connected to the Pocket PC e740 while the device is in the cradle."<br /><br />300% battery capacity increase? Wow - very impressive! I wonder how much bulk it adds to the overall unit?

Ahh yeah..all the battery power you need...

forget about a simple wish such as running your PDA the whole day without recharge, I for one long for the day when a PDA is actually an anarchist radio/TV transmitter powerfull enough to broadcast your message in multimedia format to the entire neighborhood for the whole day.

with some sort of wireless sattelite connection, heck you can have instant planetary size broadcast system.

imagine all junk information you can deliver to the mass.

It adds some bulk, but for triple the battery life I think I can deal with it. It certainly looks less bulky than a Compaq sleeve! :D

This looks integrated (both BT and WiFi) but I think it must be an error. I think it is really in column order, no wireless, BT integrated/WiFi optional via CF, WiFi integrated/BT optional via SD.

Yes, it's impressive. But "triple" is not a 300% increase, it's a 200% increase. If a 200% increase were double, then what would a 100% increase be? No increase?

A 200% increase sounds awesome. The 100% increase from my Jornada extended battery is wonderful. I use it much of the time now, despite the added bulk.

I played with an e740 today at CompUSA. My first impression is that it's ugly and too wide in the hand. The original Toshiba/Audiovox PPC was better styled. Despite what I've said earlier, even the iPaq looks more stylish. But the e740 doesn't look as toy-like as the iPaq -- a plus.

Beyond the looks, I like the package. Its functionality is wonderful. All it needs is a flip-up screen coverAnd it should be just a bit narrower, even if it means it has to be longer.
