And you really know you've arrived when your product is featured in "butt shots":<br /><br /><img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/kingofppc.jpg" /><br /><br />"If you're looking for the power of a desktop in a pocket-size package, or you've been wanting a handheld that makes full use of the next generation of wireless connectivity, you would be wise to seek out Compaq's iPAQ Pocket PC H3870, which gives you both. There are two words that sum up our feelings on this sleek, handy gadget: 'We want.' " Source: <a href="http://www.flashenabled.com/mobile">pt</a>

Have they really tried Bluetooth with this machine?
It is pure junk ? You cannot rely on this kind of crap.
Compaq, please, if you do it do it well.

Hmm... starting up Bluetooth is a hassle, I agree, and require the occasional soft reset that I don't like too much. But when I have a connection to my T39m phone, the connection remains in tact, so things go pretty well from there. What experiences do you have Inaki ?

For some reason I don't think that Ipaq and sleeve are going to fit into that pocket. If it should I see a screen replacement in the future. On the other hand I see my.... Jornada slipping in there quite nicely :)

You know I really don't think that with that tight of a pair of jeans on that she would really try to cram that Ipaq with what looks like one of those fat expansion sleves into her back pocket! Let's get real. And if she did manage to cram in her back pocket, I doubt that it would really stay there very long.

I have heard lots of complaints about bluetooth! It seems that it comes up in posts all over the net!

I have just bought the new Toshiba E-740. I has dula slots, a beautiful screen , built in Wireless that works at my place of business as well as at my home (own a small wireless set up at home) and it is thin, No expansion packs needed yet for me. I love it! It works great! It runs X-scale. I have loaded up over 200 MEG in programs on my SD card and it still leaves my CF II card open to use a future camera, and I have several CF cards loaded with MP3's that I plug in for when I do my cardio at the gym. I could still use my CF II card slot for a GPS or something else. In stead of carry around a bunch of Sleves to plug in my attachments I will just simply plug in my attachments! Simple; Clean and Easy! I beleive that the Toshiba is everything that the Ipaq should have been but isn't! So jumping camps was easy for me. I would recommend it to anyone. They are available now at CompUSA. Don't wait, go get one! :D

Now this PocketPC (Toshiba) She could stick in her pocket. It still probably wouldn't stay there very long, but at least it wouldn't be so difficult.

This explains it. J.Lo must be wearing a 3870 in each back pocket all this time...

(j/k -- sorry if kinda mean)

Please don't anyone get too upset if I stay ON topic for a minute. :)

Don't you think the person who wrote the article (yes there is an article to go with the picture) is one of those people who really don't know much about Pocket PCs. There's nothing really wrong with it. It's just the way they speak about it, as if they have used one so they could write an article but didn't know anything too indepth.

As far as the accessory goes, the more, and more...........and more I look at it, the less it looks like an accessory, and the more it looks like a necessity! :)

"If you're looking for the power of a desktop in a pocket-size package..."

Who cares about Pocket PCs? Where can I get that pictured "sleeve" to slip onto my 3870? :-D

That "fat expansion sleeve" looks like the cover pack to me. I suppose it could be one of the newer CF or PCMCIA sleeves with the built-in cover, but why bother using one in a photo?

I have heard lots of complaints about bluetooth! It seems that it comes up in posts all over the net!

&lt;yawn> Who hasn't heard the complaints? Can we not bring that up unless you have real experience to add?

Yes, the more slots, the better. However, if you have any PCMCIA devices that you want to use, what will you do? Oops, a "fat expansion sleeve". If you want more than one CF card? Oops.

Personally, I don't find my 3870 with a dual PCMCIA sleeve (one of bulkiest sleeves out there) to be unwieldy. I keep my 256MB CF card in one slot and my PCMCIA wireless LAN card in the other. In addition, I get another battery (like the newer sleeves).

Would I like it to be smaller? Of course. But considering the alternative of carrying my laptop around, I'm quite happy.

Now can we get back to the important things -- commenting on that sweet butt? :-D

Steve

P.S. Can someone sue for sexual harassment in postings? :-D

Heh, dual PCMCIA sleeve, do you wear jumbo cargo pants all the time (like me)? :)

I got a Socket CF-1 802.11b card recently and am still waiting for Buy.com to ship my 256MB SD card...

Coincidentally, I've been saving up for a new XScale PPC, but looks like I will have to clean out my savings and buy a Dell X200 first (for close to 3 grand with all the fixings)... oh well

Actually, I use an iHolster. It holds an iPAQ with any sleeve. See my Web site for details about my system at http://www.garlic.com/~shm/svvgppc.html.

Even for? For geeks, I'd say "especially". Why else do you have booth babes at computer shows? :-D
