<a href="http://www.theloox.com/">http://www.theloox.com/</a><br /><br />This is a pretty amusing video. About 2.5MB WMV, but I am not sure if it will play on an iPAQ. <img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif" /> Thanks to <a href="http://www.mobigeeks.com">MobiGeeks</a> for the link.<br /><br /><img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/hansberry/2002/20020606-looxbottleopener.jpg" />

Well... they couldn't have used a Jornada for this, as the screen protector would have survived. ;)

No they couldn't either. That was clearly an industrial strength CF-II bottle opener.

The video is from www.tv1.de, which is part of www.netlantic.de, who are the registered owners of www.theloox.com. One of the groups for whom tv1 have done work appears to be: Fujitsu-Siemens!

Is this the start of an official Pocket Loox site? Who knows...

If it was a Jornada they wouldn't have to insert the bottle opener. Someone would have just grabbed the beer and pried the cap of using their teeth. Us Jornadians are tuff.... plus we drink real mans beer, Molson " Canadian".... I Am Canadian!!

Get it right, mate! If you want to learn move about that, just check http://www.ibelieve.com.au/ ... I'm sure you'll love the quicktime movie you can find under free stuff. You're Canadian and you will instantly understand, what countries they are comparing... 8)

Gentlemen, gentlemen... remember that ALL worldwide beers are but poor imitations of the real stuff you can buy in England. Here we don't need bottle openers (nor are we so uncouth as to use our teeth). If it doesn't come out of a tap inserted into a barrel, be full of bits of grain, have the punch of Muhammad Ali at his height (and the bite of Tyson at his!) and get served in a pint tankard - it ain't real beer!

That is far too cool.... I like the line "We play football without helmets"... not that I'm trying to imply anything :D

Actually I lied, my favorite beer is Emu Larger. I don't think you can get it in Sydney can you? I think it is from Swan and brewed in Perth.

Oh and Duncan. I guess the next thing you are going to tell me is that it's best served warm..... eeeeewwwww :-)

The cheap stuff they sell in Australia and Canada HAS to be served cold - disguises the lack of taste

Real beer is meant to be drunk warm...

LOL! English beer may have its finer points, but there are only two locales on the globe that know how to make real beer: Germany and Wisconsin. Everything else pales (pun intended) in comparison.

No teeth to open a bottle? Is that because in England, most have Austin Powers type teeth that they would just break when tried?

If I get a bottle opener CF card and it breaks my Loox PocketPC, will Siemens replace it?

You people never tasted Belgian beer ???
That's the only real beer in the world... :)

The first thing that came to my mind while watching this was something that happened a couple of years ago. My son and I were looking at a customized van and there was a funny device mounted to one of the cabinets. I had to explain that it was called a "bottle opener," something we used to use back when Coca-Cola came in glass bottles.

The only beverage bottles my son had ever seen came with twist tops or corks!

Sorry although there are some good German beers (in the north at least) and English ale has a fine and noble heritage the people that really know how to make beer are the Belgians. They have no equal.

Got that right!
If you're ever around Belgium, you should try them. (but not too much, they contain a lot of alcohol...)

Finally we found a topic worthwhile discussing! And - other than XScale - all the devices we are talking about are actually available. I don't care if it comes with a pommy, belgium, canadian or US-interface - as long as everybody agrees that down under is cooler than the rest 8)
But - as real tecies - some seem to start a technical discussion about it. What is the right top? What are the allowed ingredients? Hey, at least with beer we should know: it's the result that counts. And even the newest feature won't make any difference about that!
In this sence - cheers, scol, prost, salute, ...

Speaking as a reformed heavy-ish (in case my Dad reads this) drinker, WHEAT! Wheatbeer, wiesbier, whatever, but the Germans, Belgians, Dutch and Swiss all use it to good effect. Coriandor is also used in the famous (well, it's made its way into that sleepy backwater called Wales :D ) Hoegaarden. Now I ration myself, this is my tipple of choice. BTW I'm a big beefy Jornada user who never found the 54x series heavy, which probably accounts for my taste :)

I have never had any English beer (as far as I know) but I think Canadian beers are the best around.

My absolute favorite is Molson Ex

Staying off topic:

I vote for English beer!

I had a co-worker bring over a case of Old Peculiar, brewed by Theakston (I believe). It was drunk warm and after only a few, I was a warm drunk.....

Man that stuff kicked my butt!!!!

There is a second aspect we should recognize. As beer is supposed to slow your reactions - at least that's what the police believes 8) - there might be a serious reason for this combination in the ad. Isn't everybody talking about XScale being to slow? So, if FS gives this opener as a free-bee and a nice keg free of choice... if wouldn't matter anymore, would it?

Sorry guys but if you knew beer, youd know that the best beer is in the Czech Republic, it was here that Budweiser (allegedly) started, and is the birthplace of Pilsner (from a town called Plzen - Pilsen in English).

The only beer I like more is English Cider, Woodpecker, Dry Blackthorne, Scrumpy Jack... Many fond memories of university coming back :)

I know that a rose by another other name would still smell as sweet, but I have to draw the line at drinking anything that sounds like an 85-year-old codger who puts his pants on backward.

I'm wondering is this is going to be one of the added accessories for the LOOX!

Now on to the Bier - which of course is the proper way to spell it... Invented by German monks and rumor has it, while they fasted they lived off the Bier during lent.

Whohoo! Time for Lent again?!? :D
