After trying our little experiment, I've opted to curtail the use of the MORE function on our site. The reason is pretty simple: until we have a mobile version of this site, people reading this site on a Pocket PC can't get a readable version of the content linked in the phpBB forums because we have no good template yet. Ironically, it's the Pocket PC owners who we were trying to cater to in trimming the size of the front page down - I share your frustration when I load the site in Mazingo, AvantGo, or Pocket Internet Explorer and have the Pocket PC basically lock up for several seconds while it tries to render the opening page. Damned if we do, damned if we don't.<br /><br />Moving forward, we'll use the MORE functionality, but we'll try to implement it in such a way that it's less disruptive, and only when we have a functional Pocket PC/mobile version of this site. The Pocket PC version of the site will use the MORE function quite heavily in order to keep the page size down, but we'll place more data on the desktop PC page than the Pocket PC pages...yet use the same data for both. Oey this gets complex! Smokin' php programmers drop me a line - I'm in way over my head. <img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/images/smiles/icon_eek.gif" />

Thank you Jason!
Moving forward, we'll use the MORE functionality
Jason, I am longing for "Archives" link ( http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/content.php ) to start working!
I know that some news can be found in the forums section
but really it is not handy: finding news item from specific date,
say, May 15, is difficult, second to impossible.
I hope that this "MORE" will include also full archives - by months
by days, etc... ?
Your http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/links.php section is also
empty and I cannot put links to you on my site if you don't have
possibilit to reciprocate...

ALL news can be found in the forums section, as the frontpage news is nothing more than a different view of some forum entries. You can search on content, which works remarkably well for me.

Of course you can. You simply choose not to, as you demand something in return. ;)
