For all you do-it-yourself iPAQ owners out there, here are two links that might be helpful:
I wanted to build my own battery extender for my iPAQ 3850 for a while, so I bought all the necessary parts, cables, etc. I also found some good guides in how to solder it all together, but unfortunately they were all for the 36xx series iPAQ. (Which has a simple power in plug.)
 After a long search I finally found two pages on the web that have an overview of the 22-pin layout for the 38xx series connector. They are both in German, but the symbols should be clear to everybody.

So, have fun everybody!
