I've ordered a new Jornada 568 and a Socket 802.11 CF card. I've also purchased a Linksys wireless access point.
Has anyone used these together? Any problems making them speak to each other?

I haven’t tried any cf network cards, but, I do know that the Linksys base station sometimes doesn't like to talk to non linksys cards (ie Orinoco [IMO the best PCMCIA card out there]). However, I have found that by fiddling with the preamble settings on the Linksys basestation, you can get it to work.
I would caution you against getting any linksys products, because I had two of their basestations and they both broke on me, and, I sent them back to Linksys and they both tested fine and Linksys sent them back to me broken. :x I had to call their VP of customer service to get my basestations replaced.

I have the WAP11 and the Socket CF card. W/o WEP it works right out of the box. When using WEP one must select "Both" under Authentication Type in the WAP11 config to get the AP to accept the WEP key from the card. Both uses a hexadecimal WEP key so there isn't a need to convert. When selecting "Shared Key" instead of "Both" the only card I can get to work using WEP is the WPC11. My orinoco, socket, smc, and dlink cards won't work using WEP unless "Both" is selected then the WEP key is accepted. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the help! I got everything hooked up last night and it's all working well (without WEP), except that I can't get my Jornada to sync wirelessly with my PC. I can ping it (both directions), I have full Internet access, but the sync doesn't work.
Any ideas?

Make sure you have Work selected for "My network card connects to:" under connections in Setings. Then try to sync.
