Yeah, Viewsonic has a few tablet-ish devices kicking around. I have yet to see one in person though, so I don't have much of an opinion about them. :-)

The probably just wanted to get it out first and will worry about getting an XScale based version out later. I wonder why this device isn't in the section with their other tablets...

One of my guys went to Viewsonic for an eval unit. The Celeron chip makes the fan kick on quite often, and for a long time and this is a very loud fan. It is very annoying white noise that doesn't fade into the background. As expected, it's a little heavy, too. We want to send some out with our sales force because we are very interested in the promise of the tablet, but so far they all still lack some proper ergonomics... wireless keyboard works great, but doesn't attach in any way if you want to carry it (I know, use the stylus, but for a mobile force, some things work better with a keyboard). No strap on the back or grip to prevent slipping. We haven't dropped it yet (do you ever buy eval units? ;-) but if you deploy 2500, someone will.
I'll still wait for 2G devices most likely, but so far it works as you think it should. My comments above are more "cosmetic" and will probably be addressed in future versions/3rd party.
