Programs-main or sd card

Does anyone know if there is a general rule as to what MUST be loaded in main memory as opposed to sd cards? Some programs, such as RemindMe and IA Album either says they should be reloaded in main memory or simply doesn't work properly on sd cards. I will be quickly running out of memory if all of these programs have to be loaded in main on my Audiovox. :?:

This is completely a guess, but, it could be that if the programmer doesn't create some registry entries which controls whether or not a program can run from a storage card. Again, that is just a theory of mine and I could be completely wrong.
