<a href="http://www.sierraimaging.com/">http://www.sierraimaging.com/</a><br /><br />A long time ago, back when the Pocket PC first launched, one of the few photo viewing applications on the market for it was <a href="http://www.microsoft.com/mobile/pocketpc/reviews/sierra.asp">Sierra Imaging Expert CE</a>. The program has some usability issues, and was quite expensive, but it was a powerful application that included built-in email functionality. I'm updating my PocketPC.com articles to check what's compatible with Pocket PC 2002, and when I checked in on this software, I found that Sierra Imaging has sold off their software to JASC Software. And it seems that JASC <a href="http://www.jasc.com/products/aftershot/ieintro.asp?page=/index.html">has no desire to keep the Pocket PC version going...</a><br /><br />"Jasc will continue to sell and support the Dell Editions of Image Expert. We will also continue to offer support for the Macintosh and CE versions of Image Expert, but will not sell these products."<br /><br />It's a pity when I see Pocket PC software biting the dust. RIP Sierra Imaging Expert CE - it was nice knowing you!

..."all good things must come to an end". I suspect that Jasc took a look at the quantity and quality of the curent image viewing and manipulating software out there and decided not to enter the fray. One look at Tekguru's image viewer review indicates that there are some very high quality viewers on the market that surpass what SIE originally offered and are very usable.

Sierra Imaging actually stopped supporting the product well over a year ago. It has one key feature with a bug in it (the info view reports all pictures as being take in December 1969) that I reported about 18 months ago. Also....it doesn't work on my IPaq3870. In the thumbnail view it takes years to display the thumbnails....if ever. Good riddance to a product that the developers refused to support!!

 As someone who bought 2 generations of this product...I miss it, however...

It was high priced, but great software....wish they would have upgraded to PPC2002!
