Hello:

Is anyone else frustrated by COMPAQ not coming through with the GSM/GPRS sleeve in the US by this month ? It is now due by June 2002, which doesn't really mean anything (I spoke to COMPAQ less than two weeks ago and was told they would release it in the US by 15 March !!!).

Anyway, I went ahead and purchased it from EXPANSYS in the UK (www.expansys.com). It was a total of 353 Pounds inclusing delivery (roughly US$ 500). I know: it is expensive, but what the heck, this is my only toy !!!

I spoke to Voicestream, and I can get the phone activated free of charge once I get it. For those of you interested, I'll keep you posted.

Thanks,

Fernando

This is the crapiest piece of hardware I have ever bought. Does this work for you ?

I own a lot of gadgets and have tested a lot of sleeves, however, I must say that this one takes the cake in terms of being a poorest tested sleeve/accessory I have seen on the market.

I'm using a 3870 with the GSM/GPRS sleeve - carrier is VoiceStream.
My GPRS connection via the T68 Ericsson Bluetooth phone is excellent, however, with the sleeve, my iPaq has to be hard reset every day and the connection does not work beyond the first page of load through IE.

Further, Compaq in the US provides 0 support as this is not officially released in the US. Even the tech. support in Europe is helpless. Comments ?
