<a href="http://articles.pocketnow.com/content.cgi?db=articles&id=65">http://articles.pocketnow.com/content.cgi?db=articles&id=65</a><br /><br />The good people of <a href="http://www.pocketnow.com">pocketnow.com</a>, have posted an article concerning all of the quality control issues that plague the current crop of Pocket PCs, including several solutions for dealing with Pocket PC quality control issues. I particularly like the first of the suggestions for dealing with these problems:<br /><br />"<i>Let's stop using flaws as ammunition in the "mine's better than yours" wars.</i><br />It happens from time to time, on every Pocket PC-related site. Usually it begins with a question of which Pocket PC is "the best." Eventually it takes on the distinguished air of the "trash-talk" preceding a World Wrestling Foundation "event" or, perhaps worse, the presidential debates. I'm horrifyingly certain that I'll see some of the things I mentioned above in a future war of the words, most of them have been seen already. The problem with debates where people spend their time talking about how bad the other person's Pocket PC is is that it does nothing to correct these issues and it gives the impression that we're just trying to get the least execrable of machines."<br /><br /><rant>May I be as bold as to suggest we end "my device is better than your device, and is better then that other device over there" type of discussions. Truth be told, it doesn't really matter, and despite the quality control issues, and other varying specifications, all of the current Pocket PCs are almost exactly the same anyway. </rant>

I think it's much more constructive to examine how well a device supports my objectives... and to help those who are shopping to do the same.

I supose that's fine; however, given geek nature and the nature of our comunites, this rarely happens in the manner you suggest. For one these discussions abound on various boards, and they rarely are productive in the ways that you and I would like them to be.

Sounds like someone is just jealous because my Pocket PC is better than his. LOL
Seriously, I don't mind those discussions too much, if they're kept civil. Even pointing out a flaw may be useful if I didn't know about the flaw already.

I'd have to say I'm 100% guilty of this...
When I had the Casio E-125 (which was nearly flawless) I really talked that up compared to the dust issues of the iPaq (amongst other things).
Then when I got the E-200, the door came back and hit me in the butt
I'm finally back in the saddle with my trusty E-200, and I hope the next generation of PocketPCs don't get rushed to market... even if we    for them!
