I have been doing some reading regarding the possibilities...here's some thoughts that i want to throw out, and questions.

1. With Nokia D211 card...you get GSM, GPRS, WLAN, all in one card to insert to ipaq, which the 3870 has Bluetooth integrated. You get everything except voice. Phones are still a fashion statement, so i don't mind, but it is still one less device to carry...isn't it?

2. Pocket PC with Iridium compatibility...I want to test this, has anyone yet connected (data) using an iridium phone and the data link kit? is there a serial connection to ipaq? what about the cdrom and program from iridium's kit for iridium global data services?

3. Is D211 tri band? The compaq wireless GSM/GRPS is...

4. unrelated, but Nikon's new D-100, i am bringing this on my atlantic passage...any recommendations? suggestions? bear in mind i am expecting a month on sea. GPS would come handing for ipaq? know any marine kit out there?

Thanks,

Michael
