Someone pinch me! As a general life philosphy, I buy everything that Blizzard puts out - I'm a huge Warcraft and Diablo fan (StarCraft was ok, but not great). It seems that a Russian company named ElGraph is close to releasing a port of the old WarCraft 2000 source code (can't seem to find a link to their company web site though). The graphics look excellent, and if they've worked out some decent gameplay, this game could be what I've been waiting for. Bring on the orcs!

• Advanced 2D engine, adapted for the Pocket PC
• 256 colour palette, animation for game process
• Music and sound effects
• Advanced AI (3 levels of complexity)
• 2 companies, 15 missions each for humans and orcs
• 2D map editor

Thanks to the best Pocket PC gaming site on the net, PocketGamer.org, for the original link & info.

I am not a PPC gamer, and really don't care to play games on it...BUT... this I would have to make the exception. I loved WarCraft...(and the Beta 3 is pretty sweet toooo)

Starcraft was only OK? Starcraft is one of the greatest games ever made and I consider it right up there with Warcraft and Diablo. It takes a while to be a master at it, but that doesn't stop you from having fun the first moment you play it! Sorry.

I'm not sure why exactly, but I just remember not playing it all that much. Might have been timing - too must RTS or something - but I never played it that much. I do remember the AI being quite nasty - I never bump the difficulty levels down, I just play it at default, and for some reason I remember getting my ass handed to me a lot. ;-)

Now that is a game for the pocket pc. I'm sorry, but the games available now are really poor, not really in quality of the programming, but in quality of the game itself. When we get more role playing games like this, then we're talking.

I'd hafta agree with Tony...StarCraft is still the game by which all others are judged. But Blizzard, geeeesh, WarCraft III been like forever and just now beta...and zero follow-up per StarCraft II...StarCraft was an RTS within RTS. It didn't play like the straight RTS C&C series. Submarine Titans I thot was a worthy RTS'er also. Diablo'isms I dunno, hack and slashing got tiring after a bit. :)

Way cool tho, anything bigtime RTS on the Pocket PC is great. Why don't more real gaming companies look to PPC, as it stands now things are awash with way way too many puzzle games....

Absoluteley MIND BOGGLING graphics! Way cool. Will buy simply on the good name of Blizzard alone. They DO NOT release products unless they perform near-flawlessly. Now if they can get Diablo (go as far as Diablo II?) it will make the PPC THE undisputed, undeniable, and enviable Game platform bar none!

I too was shocked when I saw "StarCraft was ok, but not great"

I think Starcraft is a fantastic RTS. I really wish they would put out Starcraft II.

WarCraft II was my first intro to RTS and it was really the first PC game I ever got hooked into (since Bard's Tale series was released on my old Apple many years before).

However, without question in my mind, StarCraft is the best (and worst) thing to happen to me!! THAT was the first game to make me forget about eating and sleeping. Nowadays I rarely have time to play games, but if there's one game that would do it, it would be StarCraft II.

Anyway, I'd be interested in seeing how playable this port is once released... these games were best played with easy access to a ton of keyboard keys!!
