Viasat is one of Europe's leading companies in the area of vehicle security and tracking. It is owned by Magneti Marelli (Fiat Group) and SEAT (Telecom Italia Group, Italy's largest mobile carrier). Viasat has an Italian install base of over 85,000 vehicles, which accounts for 90% market share. The Destinator(TM) software was chosen by Viasat to be the exclusive navigation module in their new telematics product. Viasat's new system is an enhancement to their vehicle tracking device, adding to it new features such as television, navigation and location based services, utilizing a Windows CE based computer and a high resolution screen. Viasat's choice of the Destinator(TM) software was a result of a thorough evaluation process and comparative analysis between all of the potential navigation systems that are in the market. Viasat will integrate the Destinator(TM) technology into its market offering utilizing Paradigm's Destinator Software Development Kit. Viasat's offering of the navigation component based on the Destinator(TM) technology will be provided to both new and existing 85,000 Viasat customers. Under Phase I of the agreement, Viasat has committed to immediately purchase 1,000 software licenses in order to evaluate market potential. In Phase II, Viasat expects to position the new product that includes the Destinator(TM) software as their basic offering and to considerably ramp up sales."
