Hi all

I just got me a D-Link D660CT pcmcia ethernet card, because I got tired of slow file copying over serial connection.

However, I have a problem. When I copy an mp3 file from my desktop computer (w2k) to iPAQ (pocket pc 2000), the file seems to get errors. When I listen to it on Windows Media Player 7.1, it jumps to the next song after a minute or so. Surprisingly, Media Player 7.0 plays the song to the end, but I can here sound errors in the song. What is even more surprising, is that when I copy the songs using MusicMatch Jukebox's new pocket pc plug-in, there are no errors. I would be happy with this, but Jukebox changes the file names leaving just the song title in the file name - which isnt't very nice when I am trying to manage all the songs in my 1 GB microdrive. Anybody having same kind of problems? Any ideas what I could do about this?

I'm answering to myself. I tried everything I could think of: downloaded the latest build of Activesync and even updated to Pocket PC 2002 (I finally got the cd from Modusmedia, Netherlands, after waiting for it for 3 months - but that is another long story). No help at all.

Then I happened to plug in the pcmcia cards I have in different slots: microdrive to slot 2 and ethernet card to slot 1. Activesync still made errors when copying files. However, using netrunner and copying files using Ipaq's file explorer, I got it working! I mean there are still little errors, but now the mp3:s won't skip and maybe 1 song of 15 has a little error. Previously every single mp3 file had errors that made Media player to skip to next file. Pocket divx played them, but it sounded horrible. Problem wasn't only in the mp3 files, I couldn't get the Service Pack 1 to install copying the file using Activesync.

Sweet that it works, but the problem is strange anyhow. I wonder if anybody has experienced same kind of problems...

Does it do this just for mp3 files or for all files? I had a similar problem with my iPaq and a wireless network card, in that it wouldn't copy any files over like 1.3MB. Compaq finally replaced my PCMCIA sleve and that fixed the problem.
