i would like to be able to "clone" a Jornada 560 series device. 2 main reasons:

1) backup
2) setting up a whole case of these takes too long

does anyone know how to do this?

Sprite software has programs that do exactly what you are talking about. Sprite was started by the original creators of Ghost, which does this type of stuff on the desktop. More info can be found at http://www.spritesoftware.com/home.html

I have never tried this, but I don't see why it would not work.... Create a backup on a CF card and just insert it in to each one and restore. Restoring from backup on CF is quite fast, no worries about cables, cradles, ect.

I don't think that CF Backup captures quite everything. Sprite Clone literally takes everything of the devices and packages it up into an image format. I believe the comparison would be similar to this... MS Backup is to Ghost as CF Backup is to Sprite Clone (feel like you are taking the SAT?).

Yeah CF backup would only capture non-system files, Sprite Clone copies the OS and OS settings as well.

P.S.
No, I don't feel like I am taking the SAT. Wait I never have taken the SAT so how would I know?

I just came across this backup ut. it looks like it may do. It looks pretty flexable and backs up the registry. It may be worth a shot.
