In any case I got a good kick out of a link to this discussion at the Ars Technica forums from Ellen Beeman.

It appears that someone has accidentally backed their Palm VII unintentionally when cooking a Pizza, with the following results:

You can find the full story, more pictures, and wonderful comments in the thread.

Thanks for the laugh! I wonder if it comes with anchovies.
Thoughts of sentances with "half-baked" somewhere in them come to mind.

Oh my.......just put it in the oven and it will dry it right out? Hmmm, sounds like trouble waiting to happen! No wait, it did happen!!!

I'd like mine with a side of garlic bread and a coke (extra ice).

How in God's name do you accidentally bake a PDA? That's like accidentally driving over your wife....oh, wait...I get it now. ;)

By the way Sam, it is a Palm VII...not IIV.

Good thing there aren't any PocketPC that small and compact, though it has to be said that you must be a bit short of a byte to do something that dull!

Can add it to the Palm OS5-PPC2002 comparison:
Palm: Bakes real good in the oven; tastes great; thouasands of bakers; lots of recepies
PPC: Too big and bloated to be baked properly, doesn't taste that good; few bakers around; few recepies

Nah, more like Palm: "thin crust, no toppings, low calorie", Pocket PC: "Chicago deep-dish, all the toppings, high calorie". One is WAY more fun to eat...

"HR" - is that short for "Human Resources, Palm Inc."

HR is short for Palm is the best in the world; it can do everything that PPC can do and more. Its battery lasts 49,030,030.929 hours and it has 4.2 billions programmers who wrote 90 billion applications for it. One unique feature is called ZEN (Zero Enhancements needed) It's something that is there, but you are not supposed be aware that is there, and therefore, wouldn't know what it is. Hence, no one has ever seen it, but it's there. On the other side is the PPC which is way superior to Palm because it has way more power and size. It's heavy and powerful enough to iron your cloths, mow your lawn or wheat field (Palm can't do this), and serve as a weight you would place on a parachute on a windy day to prevent it from blowing in the wind (like paperweight, but heavier). PPC has only 3.5 programmers developing applications for it (the 0.5 means part-time). They have developed so far 2 applications. MS said that you don't need more than one anyway.

This was the short version. Would you like the long one?

Sure, if it tires out a smartass like you, go for it.

Hey, you shouldn't use such personal tone. I am trying to lighten up some uptight people who argue those useless, futile arguments as to which platform is better, and entertain people in the process (look at the discussion's subject again). Somehow in my mind, I didn't see you as one who will respond like this. :o

Take it easy man :)
Sometimes, people misinterpret what others mean in their short post.

P.S. HR, I really want to see the long version. :)

I don't know. I like to use humour. People usually like it. I think that given the topic of this discussion it was totally appropriate (and funny too). And then I get this unequivocal name calling from the site's owner. Don't know what to think. At the least, I would have liked to know the criteria as to when and what you are allowed/disallowed in a joke topic. It seems that I have definitely violated the rules. Maybe they should post a PPC Thoughts humour guideline or something.

Hmm....I sort of missed that part. I read your post as if you were bragging about how good the Palm was and how poor the Pocket PC was, to a silly degree.

I'm sorry if I offended you - I didn't think smartass what such a bad insult, some people wear the badge with pride, but it would appear you're not one of them. 8O

That's cool.

Read it again. I took a swipe at both platforms. In fact, I took swipe at the zealots and the emotional stuff. I am indifferent to technology in the sense that I want it to be useful and functional. I never claim that one platform is the best in the world and the other is crap. Every platform has its pros and cons. And eventually, preference is determined by personal taste. If you want to know, right now I think that PPC is better for me simply because it leaves Palm in the dust in terms of what it can do as a result of superior technology. And yes, ease of use is proportional to what you can do. Obviously, no one complains that the space shuttle is harder to pilot than a commuter plane.
