It appeared that Discovery had sold out of all of their HD DVDs, but now the remaining stock is on sale at blowout prices. The Planet Earth four disc set will run you just $29.99. Enter code "EML2008" for $5 off a $25 order, bringing it to just $24.99. Hell of a deal for what is arguably the best high-def video available. They also have "Sunrise Earth: Greatest American Sunrises" and two episodes of Discovery Atlas for $9.99 each. To sweeten the deal, shipping is free. Act fast though, the Sunrise Earth box set is already sold out.

You're a bad influence Jeremy. Your posts have gotten me to make my first ever HD DVD purchases: Planet Earth, Blade Runner, and Matrix trilogy. All this knowing that my HD DVD player is obsolete and a dead-end format.
Thanks for the heads up and the coupon codes.
BTW has anyone received their 5 free discs from the mail-in rebate? It's been 3 months for me so far and nada.

Stupid Amazon Canada. Their HD-DVD "sales" are 30-50% off, but that's off the normal bloated price that they're already selling it for ($49.99), so HD-DVD are still in the $23-$30 range. Idiots.

I did get my 5 free HD DVDs, but it took about 3 months before they arrived. I got a postcard in the mail letting me know they were on backorder after about 6-8 weeks, then called a month later to see what the deal was. Apparently there's a massive backorder for most of the promotional titles they were offering.
You'll get them, but it might take another month or two.
I've spent about $100 on HD DVDs the past couple weeks, and will probably spend a hundred or two more. Blade Runner and the Matrix Trilogy are next on my list. I really want to see "I Am Legend" on HD DVD, but that's going to have to wait until April.

You know, the only thing keeping me from jumping on this deal is a free HD-DVD player... :D
