Is anyone else out there having problems with Flash 9 and Firefox 2.0.0.12 on Windows Vista, specifically with YouTube video playback? According to Adobe's "About Flash" page I've got Flash 9 (version 9,0,115,0) installed under Firefox. The problem manifests itself when I start to watch a YouTube video: the playback will start then pause after about two seconds. Hitting play doesn't start the video. I can seek through the video once it's loaded, but I don't get any audio, or video - just still frames. Under IE7, Flash 9 and YouTube work without a problem. I have almost no Firefox add-ons installed: Google Browser Sync, IE View, and Session Manager, so I doubt any of them are causing problems. I figured an un-install and re-install would do the trick, but that hasn't helped. I'm not sure what to try next...any suggestions?

I had the exact same problem, right down to the 2 sec pause point etc., on my XP/Firefox 2 install. I tried an uninstall/reinstall, and that helped for a little while, then broken. I had a Vista upgrade planned when my new MB/RAM/CPU arrived, so I delayed till then, and no problems since. So I can't really say what the problem is, except it is definitely not Vista-specific.

Did you try running the Flash update program in Firefox's plugin folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\plugins\)? Mine's called "NPSWF32_FlashUtil.exe" but YMMV.

It has done magic for me earlier when Flash went bananas, so it might work this time around. ;)

I had this problem a lot with Internet Explorer and have never been able to get to bottom of it. It hasn't happened for a few months however so not sure if an automatic patch was installed by Windows or Adobe updater at some point.
